Israel’s unique history

Israel is also known as the Holy Land. For centuries, pilgrims have visited this area to travel the land walked by Abraham, David, Solomon, Jesus, the apostles, and the Prophet Muhammad. Israel has an amazing array of biblical and sacred sites including the Western Wall, the Dome of the Rock and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

Israel’s geography

The State of Israel is a parliamentary democracy whose capital is Jerusalem. Located in the Middle East on the Mediterranean Sea, Israel borders Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. Israel is a small country, around the size of Slovenia and New Jersey. However, despite its size, Israel has a diverse topography with a desert in the south and snow-capped mountains in the north. Israel’s unique geographic sites include the Dead Sea, the lowest body of water on Earth.
